Who they are: Jane and Sarah, a dynamic mother-daughter duo from Carmel, IN, are on a heartfelt mission to create a welcoming space for children and families through We Rock the Spectrum. With decades of experience—Jane in the flooring and remodeling industry and Sarah in the veterinary field—they've always shared a passion for supporting children and fostering community connections. Inspired by Sarah’s son, Korben, an energetic sensory-seeker who is autistic, non-verbal, and has a rare genetic syndrome, they were motivated to build a place where all children, regardless of abilities, can play, learn, and connect. Korben’s love for climbing, jumping, and spinning underscored the need for a space where his natural energy and sensory needs are embraced, not judged. Rooted in their belief that "it takes a village," Jane and Sarah aim to expand theirs by providing not only a sensory-safe gym but also resources, support, and a sense of belonging for families in Central Indiana.
What they do: We Rock the Spectrum - Carmel offers a variety of inclusive services designed to meet the needs of all children, with a focus on those with sensory processing challenges and neurodivergent abilities. The gym features specialized sensory-safe equipment, including zip lines, swings, and climbing structures, providing opportunities for active play, sensory input, and skill-building. Open play sessions invite children of all abilities to explore, while private play options ensure a more personalized experience. The gym also offers classes, social skills groups, birthday parties, and respite care, creating a welcoming space for fun, connection, and growth. By fostering an inclusive environment, We Rock the Spectrum empowers children and families to learn, play, and thrive together.
